April 7, 1892 - Samuel Cooper strikes gold on Crown Terrace

“Mr Samuel Cooper has struck payable gold in shallow ground at the Crown Terrace rush, in a direction which ought to infuse new life into prospecting at that locality. So far the prospects obtained are not of a sensational character, but it may safely be estimated that average mining wages from £2 los to £3 per week may be made in the ground with water in even limited quantities. This discovery has been made within the area of the leasehold recently terminated and may extend over a considerable scope of ground, and thus give profitable employment to a number of miners.”
